What can Distributed Proofreaders teach us?

Distributed Proofreaders Political frame has taught me how relationships within your organization can help the team thrive. While you do not get to meet every person who edits a certain text there are facebook and other social groups to talk to one another and help each other with things they are struggling on. Along with this these connections have allowed me as a volunteer to find more like-minded individuals to work with digitally later in life.

Distributed Proofreaders Structural frame has showed me that there is some conflict over who you need to go to in order to get the proper information for certain topics. When working with an organization it is important to know who is in charge and who to go to so you can get things approved or for clarification no matter what department it is. I have overcome this challenge by reaching out to the leaders of the organization and offering my services to better their contact us portion of their website to make it easier in the future for volunteers to find the help they need.

My Insight

Insight: Don’t be afraid to offer your help and services. Don’t be scared of building relationships within an organization.
