Effective Communication and Advocacy

In recognition of Hope’s Sham Rock N’ Run, which takes place annually on St. Patrick’s Day, I contributed to the creation of the poster that Hope distributed to all members and volunteers. I collaborated with another volunteer in designing the poster and received constructive criticism from other volunteers and employees, which assisted us in improving the final poster.

The poster serves the dual purpose of being featured in Hope’s monthly newsletter, which includes announcements and updates on events, pantry needs, volunteer of the month announcements, and more. Additionally, its aim is to attract members of the Orlando community to participate in our marathon, ultimately helping us raise funds to support individuals struggling with homelessness.

I also added a volunteer sign-up link beneath the poster to facilitate the organization of this event. Every year, we face a shortage of volunteers for setting up the event, leading to potential delays and obstacles that can be challenging to manage under time constraints. By creating this poster, my intention is to raise awareness about the event and encourage participation. I plan to share the poster on my social media platforms to attract family members and friends, with the hope of increasing both volunteers and attendees for the event.
