Where I am headed? My Career Compass Reflection

According to my results of the UCF, focus 2 career assessment, best fit occupations results of the assessment show that I have the skills needed for the career I want to partake in. I want to pursue civil engineering and the results show that I have potential on his career. According to my Holland code which was IRC which stands for investigative, realistic, and conventional. This can be applied in the field of engineering, because as someone with a strong, investigative personality, I can excel in research oriented fields and can help in the design aspect as it allows one to be creative and investigate different structures. The realistic part of the Holland code can be applied to the field division Engineering as being an engineer, requires one take accountability for the safety of their clients and the people who are planning to use and be in the structures. As civil engineers deal with the design and construction of structures, it is important to have a realistic mindset in order to excel in task that require attention to detail. The last letter of the Holland code was conventional. This can be applied to the field of engineering as conventional. Individuals relates abilities to follow guidelines and maintain order in order to create a successful and safe structure. My top three leisure interests are sharing, inquiring, and correct. This is also known as helper, thinker, organizer. I believe these answers are a perfect fit for me as I’ve always strive in helping people as much as possible and making sure the information I give them is accurate. In the engineering world, it is important to emphasize practicality, which is important for designing structures. This requires attention to detail and organization, as well as being correct. Some of the best fit occupation recommendations I agree with were Engineering as it appeared in three out of five of my assessments, and it is what I plan to do in the future. One of the occupations, I don’t necessarily agree with is psychology, as I have trouble relating to people. Out of the five assessments, work, personality and values are three most important to me. When putting those three in a combined report, the results were still similar to the original ones. Another result that was added the second time was counseling, and I understand this, as personality and values are very important in counseling.
