My Career Ready Portfolio
Where I am headed? My Career Compass Reflection
Using the results of your UCF Focus 2 Career Assessment, briefly summarize the “best fit occupations” results of the combined assessment (about 100 words).
Reflect on the combined results of your assessments as they relate to your current career interest (about 400 words). Consider responding to one or more of following prompts:
- In the Work Interest assessment, what is your Holland Code (please use the letters and descriptive titles)? How well do these three descriptors fit your current career interest? How might these descriptors help you select a better fitting career goal? SIR is my holland code which means social, investigative, and realistic. This fits perfectly with my job since in order to be a nurse you have to be all three of these things and more. You have to be able to do make relationships, show support, and achieve your nursing goals.
- In the Leisure Interest assessment, what are your top three leisure interests? How well do these three descriptors fit your current career interest? How might these descriptors help you select a better fitting career goal? My top three are sharing, aesthetic, and reality. I feel like these fit extremely well with me since that is really how I spend most of time either helping, creating my own things, or doing some physical work. It also sits well with my nursing
- What “best fit” occupation recommendations do you agree with? What recommendations do you disagree with? Why? I agree with the acute care nursing recommendation since that is exactly what I planned on being in the first place and it aligns with my other scores. The one I sort of disagree with but don’t think it is out of question was acting but it made sense to me since that was something else that I used to actually be interested in but gave it up for more realistic outcomes.
- Which of the five assessments (work, leisure, skills, personality, values) are most important to you personally? Select three assessments and run another combined report. Are the results any different? Did the results provide you with any new insights? Leisure and work are the most important to me as I believe in the work and life balance in order to live a successful and good life. I ran the work, leisure, and values tests and still got the same results with minor percentage changes so it didn’t really provide me with any new insights other than that I am pretty set in my ways.
