A Preface to Pablo Amaringo: Connecting Humans to Nature with Art:

Introduction: This portfolio is about the artist, Pablo Amaringo. He helps people to reinterpret nature through his pieces made under the influence of ayahuasca. His pieces typically include brightly colored images of nature and the animals who live in it.  The topic is that this artist revolves around is Latinx and Latin American Environmental Humanities.

Theme: The two themes of this artist are creating a connection to nature and creating an awareness of how beautiful nature could be to inspire people to protect it. The connection to nature is seen through how in order to create and express the emotion behind nature he had to take a hallucinogen from nature. It allowed him to see the beauty that nature entails and all the wonder they can be seen. This wonder goes on to inspire and promote the protection of nature. People want to protect nature because of its beauty and how it will benefit future generations and they come to this conclusion through the creation of art.

By Pablo Amaringo

Analysis: Pablo Amaringo was born in 1938. He was originally a healer until he decided to retire in 1977 to become a painting teacher in Pullculpa, Peru. He used ayahuasca in order to expand its use from just being for thinking and higher experiences. He believed by accessing this well of knowledge, it would lead to new information that would benefit the medicinal field.

Application: As seen in a previous paragraph, art is very widespread and everyone gets to see it. The art of Pablo allows the color and how wild and out there it is to make an impression on those who see them. The impression leaves the people stunned and curious about the creative process. When people began to research, they begin to discover his other works which talk about his other works which centered around other aspects of the beauty of nature which leads people to protect. Without the inspiration and colors in the piece, people wouldn’t have been inspired to protect nature.
