Vision Board 2024

My 2024 vision board includes numerous images that represent my abilities,     beliefs, experiences, influences, and aspirations all contributing to my journey of    refining my leadership style. My vision board serves as a true reflection of who I am.

The first picture of my board features puzzle pieces, symbolizing my ability to problem-solve and analyze. I carefully asses every possible outcome before making a decision, similar to a puzzle, where you fit pieces together to find a match. My problem-solving skills have been a valuable tool, especially while in my accounting classes, where I have to analyze financial statements to determine the best option for the company. The next image represents the experiences I’ve had while  volunteering at Save-A-Life Pet Rescue. While there, I have had the opportunity to interact with puppies and experience a sense of joy, seeing an individual take home their forever home. Volunteering is a huge part of who I am, because I believe it enables me to grow and develop.                                                                                                                  The next picture is the Knights Build logo, which has been a huge part of my identity ever since I joined freshman year. Knights Build is a UCF club, where we work with non-profits, such as Habitat for Humanity, to provide affordable housing within the Orlando community. I am extensively involved in this club and am serving as the Internal/ External Affairs Director. I work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and reach out to nonprofits to plan events where members can have a hands-on impact. Being a part of this community has really established my communication skills, as I have connected with many people and developed long-lasting relationships. The following image includes a picture of me in Hawaii, with a beautiful sunset background. This represents my goal of growing from traveling. I believe that traveling to different places is extremely important because it allows us to see the world through different lenses and perspectives. The following picture is me in Spain, where I experienced my first culture shock. I was able to see how differently they live their lives. The next picture is my cross-country team from high school. They showed me what a team was, and how I could always count on them for anything. This was a big adjustment for me, as I am a very independent person, however, whenever I was going through any issues, I could always count on them for guidance. In any work environment, you must learn to collaborate with and rely on others. Being on this team, showed me it’s possible to collaborate and accomplish your goals with others.

The next image includes the game board Monopoly. Monopoly has taught me how to be strategic, which I can apply to my career path as an accountant. Accountants are always thinking about the next step/ big thing. In order to accomplish one’s goals, you must strategize and plan. Monopoly allows for you to think strategically in order to reach your goal of creating a “monopoly.” The following two images are pictures of two individuals who influence me the most and shape my leadership style. The first picture is my grandma who has taught me the importance of being compassionate, kind, and empathetic towards others. She, along with my mother, have shaped my caring and compassionate nature. I try to incorporate this into my leadership style by caring about others and help them reach their full potential. I get my strong work ethic from my other grandma. She grew up poor going from foster home to foster home. However, as many people are broken from not having a steady life, she did not let that phase her. Instead, she worked many hours of the day, and always looked on the brighter side. My grandma is the embodiment of a hard worker, who continues to shape the other half of my leadership style. A leader is always determined to accomplish things and never give up in face of adversity. I always try to implement a persistent and determined mindset while completing a task.

Lastly, the quote by Walt Whitman, inspires me to always be optimistic and see the light in any tunnel. It also reminds me of how grateful I am. Throughout my life, I have been given many opportunities, along with a a loving family who will always support me, and have an education that I can use to hopefully inspire and impact the world.
