Uniform Distributions
Scores that are equally distributed throughout the distribution.
Nonuniform Distributions
Scores that are unevenly distributed.
Leptokurtic Distributions
Have scores that tend to be heavily clusted with longer tails. (K>3)
Platykuritc distributions
have scores that do not heavily cluster with shorter tails. (K<3)
Mesokurtic Distributions
Have a balance between score clustering and tail length. (K=3) Perfect bell curve
Kurtosis
Can describe distriubutions by their uniforminty or non uniform.
-Can describe by its semestry, is it ssymeitric or does it have a skewness
-It's tales
Unimodal
Distributions have only one mode
Multimodel
distrubtions have mulitple modes (a distruibtion with exactly two modes is bimodal)
Median (Mdn)
the second way to describe a distrubtion's central tendecy.
Deviation
sum of all scores from the medan is zero.
Sum of Squares
deviations from the mean is smaller than the sum of squares of the deviastions from any other value in the distrubtion.
Range
The number of units between the lowest and the highest values in the distribution.
Variance
The average of the sum of squared distances from the mean for all the scores in the distriubtion.
Standard Deviation
The average distance from the mean for all the scores in the distribution.
