The best-fit occupations that my report mentions coincidentally are the field that I currently work in and are relevant to my major. Two are computer related jobs, ‘computer and information scientist’ and ‘computer systems analyst’. I am a computer scientist who currently works as a software engineer, which are like the positions above. Both jobs deal with programming, mathematics, and computer science.  I was also suggested industrial safety and health engineer, which aligns with my values and interest in engineering, however, is not relevant to my major.

The combined results of the assessment relate to my current career interest very directly which I was happy to see. I agree with all my best-fit recommendations however I would likely want to work a more hands on job than being an analyst. System analysts, often referred to as architects, build computer systems for programmers, however I as of right now am more interested in programming.  I however disagree with numerous occupations suggested by the section where 3 of my assessments align with a job. Some examples are ‘financial services sales agent’, I do not think that I would currently be a good sales agent of any sort. My communication skills are weaker than my engineering skills and I tend to lack enthusiasm.

The most important assessment to me was the skills and personality assessments. I think that I have a fine set of skills that are rather technical, and it is smart of me to utilize those skills and continue to specialize in them to set me apart from competitors. I value the personality assessment because I think that I have a unique personality that makes me incompatible with certain jobs and more compatible with others. I think that jobs that require more social interactions and that favor extroverts are less compatible with me while jobs that are more technical and creative work better for me. I am more engaged and less anxious when I am working in technical projects because I feel more prepared, however I hope to become more comfortable in social situations at work. I think that as I get older I will likely get more comfortable.
