My Leadership Vision Board

My Career Vision Board

In the future, I want to be an animator. However, I don’t just want to be an animator, I want to be able to conduct my own stories, and be able to do the style . I want to be my own director, and have employees working with me, helping to shape my works. I have so many ideas that I want to create, many of which revolve around using the full extent of art like action choreography that implement both unique camera movements  as well as super exaggerated poses. I want people to be excited when watching my work, and be impressed by the amount of care I put into such works.

My leadership style is more of a visionary one. I want my goals to be clearly stated and, I want them to be fully realized in the way I imagine it. The way I’m going to accomplish this goal is going to rely on the 7 C’s of leadership, but more specifically Common purpose, collaboration, and consciousness of self. Having a common purpose where everyone wants to engage in a creative project will give more clarity and help with the overall process as it’s more of a work of passion. Collaboration is required for animation 100% of the time. projects like this require people to all work with all the same workload, and have a full understanding of what needs to be done. Finally consciousness of self is needed when understanding one’s purpose in the workforce. This is not specific for animators as this is something every person goes through when reaching for their career. It basically asks if this is the type of project that you want to work for, and having that understanding will really help when it comes to the quality of work being given out by those working around you. The influence that shaped these qualities is mostly the amount of care I have for my pieces. I want to be one of the greats that people will look up to when my own works are finally be broadcasted to others.

Some other leadership projects that I have worked on that correlate to my career were when I was working on the illustrations for a children’s book, as this is related to the art genre. In that project I was tasked to make around 38 original images that all related to short stories made by someone’s great grandfather.

These images all had to be completed in around a month and eventually I was able to receive a copy of the book, and have it published. I think this was a good leadership experience as I was tasked to come up with the designs of the character, how they interact with the environment, and come up with my own work hours as I had no one to guide me with my workflow. This task taught me a lot about consciousness of self as I was able to fully understand what amount of work I was capable of and was able to tell the commissioner when I was able to finish the drawings and at what time frame.
