The Natural World as We Know it

Max Lin

My roommate, named Glenn, is a 19 year old male who has consented to me to use his images and statements.

According to Glenn, spending time outdoors in nature is very relaxing, soothing, and serene. It also ties into health by not being around the urban environment and breathing fresh oxygen around the many trees in the natural ecosystem.

The picture of Glenn kayaking represents being able to spend time outdoors in nature in its own natural way. Being able to escape from the reality of urbanization and deforestation. Being able to spend time with the natural resources in the world is what makes humans able to survive. Without forests, trees and plants, humans are not able to live without their supply of oxygen.

For this image from Glenn, good health comes from spending time socially with others and bonding with them with activities such as hiking. Being out in the open and feeling free is what makes it feel so relieving and an escape from reality.

Glenn conveyed this image in a way that spending time outside is relaxing and provides good physical activity. Especially spending time outside with his friends, it gives the ability to spread the time outdoors with others allows for bonding and to enjoy the fresh air. With modern day problems such as urbanization, this wouldn’t be possible and the natural world must be preserved in order for activities such as hiking to continue.

From this image provided by Glenn, his states, the environment around me can be beautiful as well. Seeing such things as the sunset and the sky shows true beauty in my environment.

Everything about this picture provided shows how the environment is beautiful with the trees and sky in the background. The world may be made up of chaos and destruction, but there are other places that can be found that shows peace, love, and unity. The mural on the wall also gives a message of hello, which is a message of peace and friendliness, which is how humans should treat nature.

The recurring themes throughout these images are about how humans can take the time out of their lives and spend it in nature and bond with it. With industrialization, urbanization, and deforestation, if there is too much, there will be no natural world for people to use resources and there would be no survival for humans.
