MY LEADERSHIP VISION BOARD

My career aspirations and goals revolve around finding fulfillment in my occupation. It’s crucial to me that I don’t dread heading to work each day or find myself in an environment that doesn’t suit me. Ideally, I aim to work alongside individuals who not only value our collective efforts but also relish the time we spend together. I firmly believe that the team dynamic I become part of will be important. I aspire to pursue a career path that fosters personal growth and continual self-discovery. The prospect of remaining in the same role throughout my career, resulting in stagnation, doesn’t appeal to me.

Regarding leadership, I consider my style to be flexible. While I do have a structured foundation, it’s built upon three core values: respect, communication, and empathy. These principles guide how I interact with my team, addressing matters such as conflict resolution, follow-up procedures, and preferred management approaches. Furthermore, recognizing individuals beyond their professional roles is essential to me, particularly in contexts involving students. Acknowledging their personal lives alongside their academic and professional endeavors is a priority.

Reflecting on my journey, three primary roles stand out within my experiences in developing my leadership abilities and honing specific skill sets. Serving as a regional organizer within Rhizome provided opportunities to refine my leadership and team management skills while collaborating with three state chapters and overseeing ten community organizers. Working as a Resident Assistant enabled me to cultivate customer service and mediation skills, navigating the diverse needs of 70 residents from various cultural backgrounds and academic disciplines. Finally, my roles as the UCF LW24 executive director and the Homecoming Comedy Knight director allowed me to enhance collaboration and partnership-building skills.
