It is a career goal of mine to practice family law. I would love to be able to fight for those who need it most. Going through a divorce, custody battle, or death of a loved one is hard enough. I want to be able to help those with the law that involves such emotional times. The photos of studying, law and family all contribute to my goal of becoming a family lawyer.

The blue photo is to symbolize that my true color is blue. I am very empathetic and caring. I feel I can use these qualities to become a compassionate lawyer and a better leader. I have spent much of my time in high school and now college volunteering for causes I am very passionate about. I feel that my “blueness” contributes to this.

When I become a lawyer, I would love to be successful enough to take on pro bono work. This is work that is done for free, for candidates that really need it. That is the reason for the volunteering photograph.

I would also like to show young girls that they can also become lawyers. During my senior year of highschool, I had very low confidence and temporarily gave up on my lifelong dreams of becoming a lawyer. This “giving up” made me loose passion for school, because my goals and intentions were not correect.  Thankfully, I realized I was fully capable and got right back on track during my freshmen year of highschool. I would love to make sure that doesn’t happen to other girls in the future. This is the reason for the “women in law” photograph.

The last two photos have to do with the lifestyle I hope to have as a lawyer. Although this doesn’t have that much to do with career, I believe that the life you live outside of your job correlates with your success in the office. I want to maintain a work-life balance. I want to be able to still have a family and maintain my health while achieving my career goals. I would also like to be successful enough to live where I thrive. For example, I would love to live near the beach.
