My Career Ready Portfolio
I have learned that I am a very emotional and empathetic person. My true colors test showed that I am blue which means I am sympathetic, passionate, and caring. My 16 personalities is ENFP-T. This stands for extraverted, intuitive, feeling, prospective, and turbulent. This also communicates how I love to be around people and help them. My feelings and turbulence also shows how emotional and passionate I can get. I truly care about the people I am leading and want to help change their lives for the better. Although turbulence can be a negative quality, it can also be a positive quality. For example, I am quick on my feet in emergency situations, and can make decisions in stressful situations.
Additionally, my value of empathy and perseverance guide my leadership. Empathy guides me to get involved and motivates me to be a leader. If I did not care about other people, I would not want to help people and would not become a leader in order to incite change. Being empathetic also allows me to decipher how I should lead. Communication is so important and to be a good leader, you need to know how to best communicate to an audience. I demonstrate my commitment to empathy by being a caring person and thinking of others and how they are feeling day to day. You never know what people are going through, and I try to be mindful of that. Perseverance is an important quality, because as a leader, some people may not be that quick to follow you. Perservance allows me to be determined and keep trying, even if my first attempt fails. The greatest leaders are not those who always succeed, but those who fail and try again. I demonstrate my commitment to perseverance by showing determination in my academics and character. I do not let anyone or anything stop me from excelling as a student or as a person.
My leadership style is very focused on the common purpose. I am a very social person who craves interaction and connection with other people. I excel when working with someone, instead of alone. I am a true believer that bouncing ideas and learning from other people is the best way to further yourself and the task at hand. Working towards a common purpose creates something bigger than yourself and strengthens the motivation to achieve the goal.
These qualities show that I am a very service oriented, democratic leader. I strive to make the right decision, not for me, but for the people I am leading and the outreach I can do.
